VILLAGERS in Stoke Prior face a nervous wait while district councillors decide the fate of a house in Brickhouse Lane which they fear could be used for business.
Brickhouse Lane Residents Association (BRA) has strongly opposed a plan by the Foster Care Association (FCA) to convert the house into offices.
Earlier this month, members of Bromsgrove District Council's planning committee deferred a final decision on the proposal until after a site visit tomorrow.
The Midlands Foster Care Association (MFCA) owns Fieldview House, in Brickhouse Lane, which is used as a school for foster children.
The FCA, which also owns an office at Stoke Prior's Saxon Business Park, wants to buy Heath House, next to Fieldview.
BRA spokesman John Day said: "We are worried the FCA will eventually sell the buildings for commercial use."
MFCA director Jackie Edwards said: "We do not want to buy and sell the property for a profit at a later date.
The proposal, due to be discussed on Monday, has been recommended for approval.
