A KIND-HEARTED Bromsgrove woman is resting her tired feet this week after taking part in a fundraising adventure to raise money for charity.
Shirley Stanworth-Hall, from Fordhouse Road, raised nearly £1,500 after being sponsored to walk along the Great Wall of China in September.
She donated the money to CARE, a charity which supports the changing needs of people with learning disabilities.
Mrs Stanworth-Hall, who was diagnosed with leukaemia and has fought back from illness, has been involved in a number of fundraising events over the years, raising thousands of pounds for charity.
Some of her ambitions which she has fulfilled while fundraising have been, walking from John O'Groats to Land's End, an Arctic expedition, climbing 17,500ft on the north face of Everest and power walking the 2001 London Marathon for which she received a medal and raised in excess of £2,000 for children with leukaemia.
One of Mrs Stanworth-Hall's friends, Val Vale, whose daughter is a resident at CARE, in Ironbridge, Shropshire, said she couldn't thank her enough.
"Shirley has worked really hard to achieve all her goals and along the way she has so kindly raised thousands of pounds for charity.
"On behalf of CARE we really can't thank her enough for all she has done."
