KINGS Heath's trip to Pershore on Saturday is set to be postponed after violence prompted the postponement of Pershore's match at Coventry Marconi last week.
A bust-up on the field prompted a pitch invasion and ended up with former Alvechurch striker James Preece being chased out of the ground by a mob and his father, former Alvechurch manager Mick Preece, hospitalised after a nasty assault.
The Midland Combination has reportedly given Pershore three weeks off to recover placing Saturday's trip in severe doubt.
The Kingsmen entertain Express and Star Premier outfit Dudley Town in the Birmingham Senior Cup tonight with manager Sean Lawless pinning his hopes on a good run in the competition after a poor start in the league.
Lawless intended to bring in 17-year-old keeper Daniel Moseley for the tie after a comedy performance by Brian Cant in the 4-1 weekend loss to Cheslyn Hay.
The writing could be on the wall for Cant, a close-season capture, after Lawless made a seven day approach for Fairfield Villa shot-stopper Kenny Palmer.
Palmer joined Fairfield early last season after two seasons at the club.
Midfielder Dave Crumpton is set to return tonight after a back problem but fellow midfielders Mal Teague and Peter Bennett and defender Tommy Duggan are unavailable.
If the Pershore game is off, Heath's return to league action will come at Continental Star on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
