AT the September meeting, Mrs Joan Woodfield gave a talk on Life as an Army Wife.
On October 2, members attended a coffee and danish morning at Kings Court Hotel.
On October 10, Mark Garvie gave a talk entitled Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Mark, who lives in Alcester, has been in floristry for 11 years and also attended the European School of Floristry. He is now at Alcester Flowers.
He spent two years in Cornwall as a wedding organiser and took second place in the Florist of the Year national competition at the NEC.
He was recently involved in the Interflora Flowers in Fashion roadshow, which travelled all over the country.
He showed five designs to demonstrate themes using different types of greenery with orchids, tulips, bianca roses and stargazer lilies made up in a modern style rather than the more traditional. These were later raffled.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, November 14, when Rachel Newitt will speak on Sweetmeats and Savouries for Christmas.
