A REVOLUTIONARY counselling service for young people is to be launched in Redditch following a lottery cash injection, writes Becky Procter.
Redditch YMCA will create the pilot project to provide a part-time qualified counsellor who will be based at both the Church Hill venue and the Ecumenical Centre.
The YMCA has been given £5,000 towards the scheme, which has been scaled down from original plans to have a full-time counsellor in a separate building.
Hunt End Colts Football Club, which has gone from having just eight boys on the books to 140 in just two years, has received almost £4,500 from the Lottery's Awards for All initiative.
Feckenham Village Hall has received £1,982 to allow the management committee to conduct a survey with the aim of improving existing recreational facilities.
The grant will pay for consultation costs, a building survey and the production of a feasibility study.
