Pershore 0, Kingswinford 3
IF ever a side could genuinely consider themselves unlucky to lose 3-0 then surely for Pershore this was it.
A strengthened Pershore team soon settled down into a good rhythm with Massingham constantly driving the home team down the right-hand side.
The defence, boosted by the appearance of Tucker and Grove, both returning from premature retirement, gave solidity to a predominantly young side.
With seemingly nothing to be concerned about Pershore conceded a penalty corner which was converted by Kingswinford through a lucky deflection. Undeterred, Pershore continued to press forward and played confidently for the win they expected to achieve.
Amazingly, Kingswinford scored a second, again from a penalty corner.
Starting the second period 2-0 down but still believing they could win Pershore were rocked by a ridiculously lucky goal. A right wing cross was somehow tapped in from the narrowest of angles.
Their ill-luck continued throughout the match at the other end of the pitch too, ably supported by their keeper who played very well.
In particular, two penalty corners were well saved when on another day they would have sailed into the goal.
