PERSHORE Town Football Club will try to get back to normal after the team was attacked when a match last week erupted into violence.
The club held a meeting last night to decide its future after players and bosses were chased around Coventry by rival fans on Wednesday, October 17.
More than 40 players, managers and fans met at the football club in Pershore, and decided to try and get back to business as usual.
Fixtures
"We aren't going to let the actions of one person pull the team down," said club secretary Mike Pugh.
"We'll complete our fixtures as of Saturday."
Manager Mick Preece stepped down after he had to be treated at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital because he was attacked during the clash.
His assistant Dave Connell will replace him.
The club will not be announcing the squad for Saturday's game against King's Heath Town, because two or three players have not yet decided if they are going to play.
"We still have enough players for a full squad this weekend," said Mr Pugh.
Football
"I'm pleased with the decision.
"We're looking forward to getting back to some football."
Mr Pugh said the violent incident at the match last Wednesday was now a matter for Birmingham County Football Association and Coventry Police.
"I was there last Wednesday and it was worrying and frightening," he added.
"The league gave us time to get ourselves together and that was time well spent."
