A NEW litter scheme is looking for more volunteers to lend a helping hand and make Worcester a tidier place.
The Duckworth Worcestershire Trust, which runs the Volunteer Litter Warden Scheme, is encouraging more residents and groups to sign up to the pilot scheme and help blitz litter.
The scheme began in July after the success of the Just Bin It campaign.
Now 25 people and organisations, such as the Second Worcester Green Pack Cubs and Blackpole Residents Association, have registered for the initiative.
"A lot of groups and individuals became involved as a result of the Just Bin It campaign," said Mark Driscoll, project manager.
Volunteers can undertake a litter pick in their area once a month, organise a community litter pick and report any major cases of fly-tipping in their patch.
The scheme, which is supported by Worcester City Council, is being piloted in Worcester and Malvern and a volunteers' meeting has been organised at the Guildhall on Monday, October 29 at 7.30pm.
