ATHLETICS: Midlands representative Liz Gould had a great weekend for Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club.
Gould finished first for her club and third overall in 22 minutes 57 seconds in the first race of the Gloucester Cross Country Series at Blackbridge on Saturday.
She ran for Midlands ladies the next day in the Bradford 10km open race, coming second for the region and third in the veteran category.
Meanwhile, in the Gloucester race, 18 members from Kidderminster and Stourport competed over the 5.9km course.
Sue Howarth, 24-33, Louise Littlewood, 26-01, and Emma Payne, 26-12, helped give the ladies third place.
They were followed by Nicki Harris, 27-30, Trina Matthews, 29-30, Cora Omahoney, 31-45, and Sue Moreton, 31-57.
In the U17 men's event, Matt Granger finished fourth in 15-05 over the 4.5km course.
The senior men's race was run over 10.1km and Ian Townsend was first home in 38-15 with Graeme McMillan second in 39-30.
Other times: Stewart Grainger 40-17, Ken Morgan 41-39, Ron Lynes 43-23, Graham Amer 44-14, Alan Wright 44-42, Ron Payne 45-34, and Dave Vale 46-02.
