A SHORT while ago I gave Journal readers an astonishingly long list of (largely unknown) authorities, all elected or appointed, to in some way affect our lives.
I now present another list, this time, of county organisations purporting to better our conditions:
Learning and Skills Development; New Deal Team; Voluntary Sector Training; Credit Union Support; Community Publicity and Newsline; Vital Village Schemes; Young People into the Community; UCW; Community and Rural Development; Voluntary Sector Support; Action for Learning; Community First; Early Intervention Programme; Community Champion Fund; Leader II; Mental Health Link; Rural Housing Enabler; Community Buildings and Play; Vehicle Sharing; Community Care Liaison; Rural Transport Advisor; Community Resource Centre Development; Rural Transport Partnership; Community Resource Centres Support; Reaching Out and Responding; Voluntary Sector Funding Advice; Reading Families Campaign for Learning; Corporate Services.
Can any reader of the Journal tell us of any practical assistance received from any of these official or quasi-official organisations?
ARTHUR ROBINSON, Village Street, Harvington.
