ENTERTAINING Kidderminster Carolians moved into fourth place in Midlands Three West (North) after an exciting 32-25 win over Old Yardleians.
KCs made a slow start, allowing the opposition to take a 12-0 lead within the first 10 minutes.
But after conceding the two tries from line-outs, the Marlpool Lane men fought their way back into the game.
And KCs were rewarded when a three-quarter move enabled James Lloyd Jones and Adrian Taft to put Ambro Neri in for a try in the corner.
Andy Stooksbury converted and the score revitalised KCs who exerted great pressure.
Another three-quarter move in the 23rd minute put Eddie Ross in for a try in the other corner to tie the scores.
It was now all KCs and Ben Turner was credited with his first try for the club when a concerted forward drive put him over the line.
Stooksbury added the points but Old Yardleians responded with an unconverted try.
The visitors missed an easy penalty which would have given them a half-time lead but left the score 19-17 to KCs.
The home side dominated the second half territorially with their forwards showing greater control.
But Old Yards were again first to score after an intercepted pass.
However, Stooksbury put the sides level soon afterwards with a penalty.
The decisive score came after 65 minutes when Taft put Ross in for his second try, this time under the posts, with a marvellous angled run.
Stooksbury converted and then kicked a penalty in the 75th minute to put them two scores ahead with some breathing space.
In the last minute of normal time, Old Yardleians kicked a penalty goal but KCs were in no mood to give up their lead and ran out well-deserved winners.
KCs travel to mid-table Telford on Saturday for a league match.

He converted and also kicked a penalty.
