WITH a full season of 209 point-to-points schedules for 2002, Brightwells provides an opportunity for purchasers to find some quality prospects at its National Preseason Sale of Point-to-Pointers at the Three Counties Showground next Tuesday.
After a difficult year caused by the outbreak of foot and mouth disease and the subsequent devastating effect on the farming and hunting communities, sportsmen and women can look forward to a full season next year.
The Three Counties, source of so many good point-to-point and National Hunt winners over the years, has 100 lots including proven horses in training, maiden prospects and schoolmasters, some from leading trainers.
Brightwells' bloodstock manager Andrew Elliott said he was delighted at the entry and added: "This sale comes at an ideal time to give buyers the opportunity to purchase proven and potential jumping stock for next year's point-to-point season."
The sale begins at 11am and catalogues (£6) are available from Brightwells on 01432 355300.
Next Wednesday the National Sport and Riding Horse Sale takes place at the Three Counties Showground, at 11am. The event will bring together 100 showjumpers, hunters, dressage horses, riding horses and performance ponies.
"This is an excellent opportunity for the serious horse or pony buyer to see 100 individuals, produced under saddle, in one place at one time," said Mr Elliott.
