A WYRE Forest RSPCA inspector who braved treacherous floodwaters to rescue cattle stuck in the River Severn has received a second award for his courage.
Neil Tysall, who was commended for his heroics earlier this year when he helped rescue a ewe and a lamb which had slipped down a steep bank in Stourport, received a certificate of merit for his role in an operation in Shropshire last year.
Mr Tysall and colleagues rescued a herd of cows stuck in the flooded river. Six cows were found dead and a handful of others, exhausted by their ordeal, died in front of officers during the two-day operation.
