SPORTY youngsters in Wychavon proved they are tops after the district clinched first place in the Worcestershire Games following a last minute victory.
The final heat of the event, the Boccia, saw Wychavon battle it out with closest rivals Redditch.
Wychavon went on to take the glory and district council chairman Councillor Tony Hotham collected the prestigious replica broad sword from Cllr Dr Elizabeth Shaw from Broms-grove's Leisure Committee at a presentation ceremony held after the final heat at Arrow Vale Leisure Centre.
Cllr Hotham said: "Wychavon has won this award before and we are proud to regain it. It is certainly well deserved and we are very proud of the competitors."
Wychavon's Sports Development Team worked closely with local schools and Sport England to prepare them for the games which attracted 600 competitors and 1,500 spectators.
