KIDDERMINSTER Harriers boss Jan Molby has issued a 'more of the same' challenge to his players ahead of tomorrow's Nationwide League Division Three trip to Southend United (3pm).
Molby was delighted with Harriers performance in Tuesday's 4-1 home demolition of York City and is urging the unchanged side to carry on where they left off.
He said: "The test is tomorrow which is obviously going to be a difficult game. Southend have got a new manager in Rob Newman and have a reasonable home record with four wins.
"In Newman's two games as caretaker manager they scored eight goals in two matches against Swansea in the league and Stevenage in the LDV Vans Trophy, so they are capable. They are a young side who try and play, but they've also got experience so it will be a very tough game.
"It's a hostile place to go to but we'll be on the back of a good win and they'll be on the back of two away defeats. Hopefully we can go there and continue where we left off on Tuesday.
"We'll go for it and see if we can produce again. We don't expect them to play as well as they did on Tuesday but we do expect a consistency level that we don't drop below.
"Whereas our defeat at Carlisle was unacceptable York was good. It proves we can do it, but I think everybody knew that anyway.
"We did it for 45 minutes against Preston and now we have done it for 90 minutes against York. Now we have got to do it again tomorrow.
"We don't have to play as well as we did on Tuesday to beat Southend, but we need to keep all the good things about our game like the pace of it and the high tempo.
"The players suffered towards the end with tired legs but we kept going and there was a real will to win."
After such an impressive display against York, Molby plans a same-again line-up which includes central defender Abdou Sall, who marked his eye-catching Football League debut on Tuesday with a goal.
Adie Smith (groin) and Mark Shail (knee) are again expected to miss out.
Molby said: "I wouldn't have thought Shail would be available and in an ideal world Smith needs rest. We have been getting him from game to game but with Sall doing as well as he did on Tuesday you could suggest that he might be able to go and play tomorrow and give Smith even more rest."
Kidderminster: Brock, Clarkson, Hinton, Sall, Stamps, Blake, Williams, Bennett, Larkin, Broughton, Foster. Subs: Shil-ton, Hadley, Lewis, Murphy, Bird.
FORMCAST: A 2-1 win is well within Harriers capabilities.
