Malvern Priory is to host John Betjeman's verse autobiography Summoned by Bells in aid of its Organ Fund on Saturday, November 10.
Entitled English Churches - a journey in words and music, the show will be performed by Paul Vaughan (narrator), David Harrison (organ) and Raymond Fowler as the parish clerk.
John Betjeman is arguably Britain's best-loved Poet Laureate and very much a people's poet whose incisive wit and love of things English earned him the description, by The Times, of "The Nation's Teddy Bear".
The event is sponsored by the English Speaking Union and comes as the organ appeal approaches the first anniversary of its launch.
Tickets cost £6 each and are available from the parish office, Lyttleton Well or by telephoning 01684 573249 or 01684 568483.
