CHRISTIANS are offering a 'Hallelujah party' to draw children away from Halloween.
The event is at Colwall Free Church on Wednesday involving games and craft activities.
Sylvia Darby, a member of the church council, said: "This is our version of a Halloween party because we believe that instead of concentrating on all the nasty things that go bump in the night, we should be concentrating on happier things."
Ron Maddocks, children's sector advisor of Worcester's Woodgreen Evangelical Chu-rch, will take a team of helpers to help provide entertainment.
He said: "All of us feel a certain vulnerability in times like these, so we thought it would be nice to do this rather than importing more fear into children's lives which seems to be what happens at Halloween."
