When I go shopping at the Link on a Friday morning, I now endeavour to plan to be at the United Reformed Church in Worcester Road for their 10.30am Shoppers' Service.
I can highly recommend this 20-minute event for all who feel, in these days of uncertainty, the need to satisfy a longing for inner strength, and an opportunity to express in prayer to God an appeal for divine intervention in both local and world affairs.
Those who attend are from various churches, or none, and all are welcome. After the two hymns, a short talk, and prayers, there is an opportunity to meet and/or make friends over a cup of coffee in the church hall next door.
God invites us to call on Him in the day of trouble. Then He will deliver us and we shall honour Him.
