IT is strange how the passage of time alters people's memories.
A visit to the Evening News archives reveals Prime Minister Tony Blair received a less-than-warm welcome when he visited Bewdley at the end of last year.
The area was being ravaged by floods and Mr Blair was heckled throughout.
Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor certainly remembers it this way.
And this week he reprised the episode in a Commons exchange with Floods Minister Elliot Morley.
Asking Mr Morley if he had any plans to visit Bewdley, he joked: Can I assure him of a warmer welcome if he does decide to come than was afforded to the Prime Minster last November.
But Mr Morley had an entirely different recollection of events.
He said: I accompanied the Prime Minister when he came to Bewdley and the reception he received showed the people were very grateful that he had taken the trouble to actually go there at a time when people were suffering the effects of severe floods. How strange. Perhaps he was confused by all the water.
