ONE of the region's major waste recycling companies has fought off competition from national rivals to secure a major waste management contract.
Betta Special Waste has secured a 12-month contract to provide special and dry waste collection for the Chester-based Continental Can Company Limited.
Betta will safely remove all special waste to its purpose-built, state-of-the-art recycling and storage facility in Worcester.
All dry waste will be collected and disposed of on Betta's behalf by another company that has depots close to the Continental Can Company.
"After only a brief time under new management, Betta has made a huge achievement to win the year-long contract," said Betta Special Waste's managing director, Mark Jenkins.
"We're confident that we'll continue to out-do our rivals to keep winning contracts such as this."
Betta Special Waste and Worcester-based Betta Environmental Solutions Ltd, are subsidiaries of Betta Plc, which runs a nation-wide chemical installations and garage forecourt decommissioning service, as well as a 24-hour emergency clean-up service employed in the event of oil and chemical spills.
