A YOUNG woman was indecently assaulted in an attack involving a gang of five men as she walked home after a night out.
The 20-year-old victim was walking home at 3.15am on Sunday in the Broadwaters area of Kidderminster close to the junction between Stourbridge Road and Sion Hill after a night out in Wolverhampton.
She had been dropped off by minibus and was walking towards Sion Hill when she passed three men standing next to a shop on the parade who started shouting derogatory remarks at her.
The three men were described as Asian and in their mid-20s.
One had evenly-cut 1in long hair and was wearing a dark jumper, dark trousers and dirty white trainers.
The other two both had short wavy hair and were wearing dark jumpers and jeans.
The woman ignored them and continued to walk up Sion Hill, Kidderminster police said.
One of the men approached her and stood in her way, making her stop, as a red Vauxhall Nova car pulled up outside the Parade shops.
The two men in the car were described as white, and in their early 20s.
The driver had very dark brown hair in a pushed forward spiked style, and was wearing dark jeans, a blue cotton top and was carrying a 3210 Nokia phone with a silver cover.
The passenger was stocky with short blond hair gelled forward and spiked at the front.
He had a week's growth of ginger stubble and was wearing a light blue zipped up puffa jacket, dark jeans and white dirty Reebok classic trainers.
The pair got out of the car and joined the two men by the shops before all five converged on the woman and surrounded her.
The short-haired Asian grabbed her and banged her head against a wall twice and indecently assaulted her.
In the struggle the woman managed to escape and knocked on the door of a house where the occupant helped her.
"This was a very nasty attack," said PC Kay Fillmore from Kidderminster police.
"The victim was intimidated and frightened and is feeling very shaken as a result.
"We're appealing for anyone with information which would assist our investigation on this matter to contact Kidderminster police on 01562 820888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
