PLANNING inspectors are investigating proposals to build 71 homes in a medieval hamlet near Droitwich Spa.
A three-day public inquiry begins today into a multi-million pound development at Hadzor Hall.
The Keep Hadzor Special Campaign group called for the inquiry which is taking place at the Civic Centre, in Pershore. Residents say the courtyard style development could ruin their village.
The Planning Inspectorate, based in Bristol, gave seven reasons for re-examining the application submitted by Neil Grinnall Homes Ltd, based in Stourport-on-Severn.
Planning chiefs are concerned about the visual impact on the countryside, implications to the road network and setting a precedent for growth east of the M5. Developer Neil Grinnall wants to restore the 14th Century hall, adjacent church, grounds and farm, and provide the community with three acres of open space.
