INCREDULOUS bystanders watched as a car sped down a hill in Bewdley, smashed into a fence and bounced off before driving away.
Bewdley town councillor Nigel Knowles, who saw the incident, has welcomed moves to introduce traffic calming in Cleobury Road as he feels someone will be hurt soon.
Mr Knowles, who lives in Welch Gate - the location of the fence smashed by drivers and due to be upgraded by Wyre Forest Highways Partnership - said someone must have been hurt in the crash at 11.10pm on Monday.
He said: "I expected to see someone slumped over a steering wheel. A car had been speeding down the hill when it lost control." He has welcomed proposals for traffic calming in Cleobury Road.
A public consultation took place last week over the plans and people have until Tuesday to respond.
