I HAVE received information with regard to next year's Commonwealth Games. It would appear that First Group, parent company of First Midland Red, are one of a group of official sponsors.
As sponsors of this event they will probably promote themselves as the official transport provider.
As citizens of Redditch I feel it is our responsibility to ensure that both spectators and competitors arrive for the events on time and, therefore, encourage these people to make alternative transport arrangements.
Just in case the official bus is unable to run according to the timetable, has to be cancelled altogether or they find themselves on a bus that will not pass its MOT.
Yesterday, as I walked to the front of the bus so that I could get off at the next stop I glanced over into the driver's cabin.
I wondered what speed he was driving at as I felt he was exceeding the 30mph speed limit.
Had I asked him what speed he was doing it would have to have been a guess since the speedometer had broken.
Perhaps West Mercia Police could raise revenue by placing speed cameras on the bus lanes.
