WE were relieved to read in the Advertiser that the laser machine bought by Redditch people will not now be moved to another site.
We hope also that the recommendations of the Community Health Council will be adopted by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trusts so the visually impaired people of our town will not have to travel to neighbouring hospitals for treatment.
Many of our association (of some 200 members) would find such a journey extremely stressful.
Surely our people also need a 'Rolls-Royce' and a local one!
We see no reason why we should be discriminated against and suggest that the imbalance in the provision of ophthalmic resources at the Alexandra, compared with Kidderminster and Worcester hospitals, should be addressed as soon as possible.
