YOUNGSTERS in Bromsgrove are being warned about the dangers of playing with fireworks as Bonfire Night approaches.
A Bromsgrove police spokeswoman said: "We are urging parents to think carefully about where their children are over the coming weeks. Fireworks can injure the youngsters themselves and they can harm others.
"In some cases the law is being broken by youngsters playing with fireworks.
"If someone is harmed as a result of a firework being thrown then it's possible the individual can be arrested for assault."
She added: "Fireworks can be attractive to youngsters who believe it's harmless fun to play with them. But they can frighten some people and cause injuries.
"We are urging parents to make sure they know what their children are up to and that they know the dangers."
