HOUSEHOLDERS in Lickey and Blackwell have been urged to write to district councillors if they are unhappy with the current rubbish collection system.
The move comes after Bromsgrove District Council's head of performance and technical services, John Moody, gave a talk at the October meeting of Lickey and Blackwell Parish Council.
Earlier this year, the authority voted to introduce a "fixed day" system after it received around 4,400 calls over the Christmas and New Year period from people asking about collection days.
Parish council chairman Ron Brown told the Advertiser/Messenger the new system meant that over the Bank Holidays some people had to store their rubbish for around 14 days.
He said: "It is nonsense and anyone that wants to take the matter further should approach their district councillors.
"It is ridiculous to have rubbish hanging around for 13 or 14 days. There was nothing wrong with the old system."
The meeting was held at Lickey Parish Hall, in Old Birmingham Road, on Monday October 1.
