ALCESTER councillors are to bid for 100 per cent of the money needed to carry out a health check in the town.
The council is joining with Stratford Council to bid for the funding from the Countryside Agency.
A health check takes a look at all facilities and services in the town to see what is lacking and what could be improved.
After this is completed, an action place can be drawn up which will help Alcester bid for up to £1 million of Government money aimed at boosting rural economies.
The district council will liaise with the council in bidding for the money and a consultant to help formulate the health check will be appointed in November.
The action plan is expected to be submitted in the spring.
