Redditch Utd Women 4 Chelmsley Town Ladies 2
REDDITCH maintained their top of the table position as they recorded their eighth consecutive win.
And they had star striker Mandy Ellicott to thank for this latest victory after the striker bagged four first half goals.
She opened the scoring in the first minute with a run that opened up the Chelmsley defence before placing her shot past the keeper.
Ellicott netted an almost identical goal moments later and then made it 3-0 after the visitors had threatened to pull a goal back.
Chelmsley reduced the arrears with a shot over the United keeper's head but Ellicott rounded off her four-goal haul before the break following good work by midfielders Sam Tayler, Natalie Lawrence and Natalie Plant.
The second half saw a more determined Chelmsley and their pressure finally paid off with their second goal of the game.
Becky Ankcorn and Rachel Hopkins were unlucky not to score at the other end while Kate Saint was voted star player.
Redditch host Fairfield Ladies on Sunday, November 11 (ko 2pm).
