Leafield Athletic 0 Headless Cross Ladies 2
A stunning 40-yard strike from Natalie Smith helped second-placed Headless Cross Ladies to a 2-0 victory at fellow high-fliers Leafield Athletic.
Alison Johnson forced the home keeper into a good save after just two minutes before Smith struck, Amanda Hill winning the ball before teeing up the full-back.
Cross nearly increased their lead before half-time with a powerful header from Kirstie Robins which flew inches wide after good work from Johnson down the left.
Cross increased their lead in the second half when Player of the Match Gayle Wright hit a fierce shot the keeper failed to hold and Hill pounced to fire home.
Hayley Wootton, Robins and Johnson all went close before goalkeeper Eve Adams had to hold onto a powerful shot near the end to ensure Cross kept their fifth clean sheet from seven games.
Headless Cross entertain Leamington on Sunday (ko 2pm).
