DEAR Editor - not content with building on every available green field, Wychavon District Council is now allowing our car parks to be built on.
Safeway is being allowed to expand and a Waitrose is planned for the Saltway car park. The council has also increased car parking charges by 50 per cent.
Do councillors really believe this will attract shoppers to Droitwich?
Large superstores are being built in Worcester. Bromsgrove and Evesham already have decent supermarkets, it seems that Droitwich, once again, has to settle for second best.
The Action for Droitwich group's proposals to build a superstore and petrol filling station (with free car parking) would have been ideal.
However, we are stuck with councillors who prefer to listen to house-builders than to the people.
How Peter Luff MP can congratulate Cllr Pam Davey and her cronies is completely beyond me.
Mr J Johnson,
Severn Court,
Droitwich Spa.
