THE coming week is sure to go with a bang judging by the number of firework displays taking place in and around Redditch.
Friday sees Redditch Council and West Mercia Constabulary's free firework extravaganza at Arrow Valley Lake from 7.30pm, with a funfair starting at 6pm.
Events also take place at the Nevill Arms pub, Cookhill, The Fleece, Evesham Road, Crabbs Cross and the Red Lion, Droitwich Road, Bradley Green on Friday.
The Nevill Arms display is held from 7pm in aid of the Cookhill Village Hall building fund and admission costs £1 for adults, with free entry for children.
At the Fleece, a bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm with fireworks at about 8pm. Food will be available and admission is free.
The Red Lion will light its fire at 7pm with a firework display at about 8pm. There will also be a barbecue, outside bar and live music and admission is free.
Saltways Cheshire Home, Church Road, Webheath, is staging a display on Saturday.
The fire will be lit at 7pm with fireworks at 7.30pm.
Admission costs £2.50 for adults and £1.50 children.
The Astwood Bank Carnival Firework Display also takes place on Saturday at SE Davis, Edgioake Lane, Astwood Bank.
Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks begin at 7.45pm.
There will also be small fairground attractions, music by the O'Cajunal Playboys, a beer tent and stalls for food and drink.
Admission is £3 for adults and £1 for children and all proceeds will go to local charities.
Rocklands Social Club, Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, is also holding a bonfire and firework display on Saturday when there will be a family disco and barbecue for members only and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Redditch Fire Station will hold a display at its Birmingham Road base on Monday with "lighting up" at 7.30pm. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
Also on Monday is a bonfire and firework event at The Jubilee Inn, Bromsgrove Road, Studley, from 7pm, where there will be a barbecue and DJ. Admission is free.
And Wythall Young Farmers will be lighting their bonfire at 7pm next Wednesday at Obelisk Farm, Hockley Heath.
The fireworks start at 8.30pm and admission and parking are free.
