A GROUP of Bromsgrove and Redditch Athletics Club members returned from the Stroud half marathon on Sunday very pleased with their efforts.
On a perfect Autumn morning John Manley (veterans over 40) recorded a satisfying personal best of 1.28.31 and was followed by Peter Hawcroft (V50), who was happy with 1.27.04 as it was his first race in four months following injury.
Mark Graham and Gordon Marshall paced each other all the way to the last few yards and running together helped Graham to 1.28.31 and Marshall to a personal best of 1.28.38.
Roger Beacham (V60) ran an excellent 1.33.58 while Jane Anderson, who had just gone to get a race in, recorded a personal best of 1.37.26.
As usual the event was brilliantly organised with over 1,500 runners from all over the UK taking part.
