PROPOSALS to brighten up an underused beauty spot are being drawn up by Pershore Town Council.
The council, in partnership with Pershore Abbey, hopes to make St Andrew's Gardens more appealing for when the new town hall, on the site of the old post office, opens next year.
A footpath linking the High Street to the gardens is planned. In addition, old spindly trees and shrubs will be removed or reshaped and new seats, litter bins and lighting will join a widened path edged with spring and autumn flowers.
Town clerk Chris Neal said: "The gardens are close to the High Street, the abbey and St Andrew's Parish Centre and are an underused facility.
"The plan is to open up the gardens and make them more appealing for a lunch break or a brief rest."
Funds are, however, limited, and the council would be willing to hear from businesses or residents who would like to sponsor a seat, litter bin or tree.
Councillor Ken Rowe, who is putting the proposals together said: "Any sponsorship received will make our money go further and enable the council to do a better job."
If you would be interested in sponsoring a seat, tree or litter bin, contact the town clerk on 01386 561561.
