PROPOSALS for journeys to Redditch schools to be made safer were put under the spotlight at an exhibition at the town hall yesterday, writes Melina Cannon.
Residents' comments were invited at the exhibition as part of Worcestershire County Council's Safer Routes to School initiative.
The scheme aims to reduce the need to travel to school by car and promote walking, cycling and public transport.
The routes being assessed are Bromsgrove Road, near Holyoakes Field First School, Mount Pleasant and Plymouth Road near St Luke's First School, the roundabout at the junction of Other Road and Holloway Lane and Woodrow Drive, near Kingsley College.
Measures being considered include pedestrian crossings, new cycle lanes and road humps.
