I AM writing regarding the lack of parking facilities in Kidderminster where I work.
Sometimes I start at lunchtime, and have to get there an hour before to give me time to find somewhere to park.
When I start at 9am I go to the Swan Centre multi-storey car park and am lucky to get a space right at the top in the open.
I buy a car park season ticket in advance. This is a brilliant idea for workers - provided they can park.
At work we have comments all the time from customers, complaining about not being able to park.
Some have telephoned to cancel appointments because they couldn't find a parking space.
The only time I have experienced this before is during the busy Christmas period, so I hate to think what it will be like soon, as Christmas is approaching.
Kidderminster is a good shopping town and the council should be trying to encourage people into the town. But the lack of parking is driving people away and businesses will suffer and eventually leave Kidder-minster to set up elsewhere.
Can someone tell me what the council is planning to do about it?
Since the demolition of Pitts Lane and Market Street car parks, everyone is trying to park in one multi-storey at the Swan Centre. This is obviously impossible.
