A STOPPAGE time winner from Carl Hamilton clinched the Strat-ford Hospital Knockout Cup for Shipston Excelsior, writes Mervyn Collins.
Last Thursday's final at Masons Road appeared to be heading for overtime when Danny Hill's cross was only parried by the Campden Town goalkeeper and Hamilton jubilantly slotted in the winner.
Campden had dominated the opening half and Anthony Robinson gave them a 34th minute lead after squandering a decent chance minutes earlier.
Richard Lewis was a constant threat to the Shipston rearguard but there was everything to play for at the interval after Mark Reynolds had seen a 30-yard drive turned over the top as Excelsior sought to get on level terms.
Steve Righton had earlier seen his shot land on the roof of the Town net, while Kevin Plank's header struck the crossbar.
Marco Bandeira suffered the same fate six minutes after the restart but Shipston's second half revival earned its reward 20 minutes from time when Simon Plank nodded in Righton's cross.
Shipston keeper Gary Betteridge showed good hands to keep out a long-range effort from Kevin Reason but he was relieved two minutes from time when Robinson missed a glorious chance to put Campden ahead.
It was to prove a costly miss when Hill was sent racing down the right to set up Hamilton's winner.
