A SIX-year-old would-be Duncan Goodhew has swum a mile in aid of charity, helping raise £300 in aid of Cancer Research.
Christopher Bedall, of Pleasant Harbour, Bewdley, described by proud mum Wendy as a "very, very strong swimmer", comfortably went the distance, non-stop, at Stourport Sports Centre swimming baths. Wendy Bedall with Christopher.
"He's been swimming since he was three months old. He's quite unusual. The staff at the leisure centre did not know anyone that age who had swum a mile, certainly not in one go," she said.
Mrs Beddall and Christopher took part in the national fund-raising breast cancer campaign in July. While Christopher, who attends Wribbenhall First School, swam at Stourport, his mum swam four miles on a separate occasion at the leisure centre at the Ramada Hotel, Bewdley.
