WYRE FOREST music lovers are being invited to step back in time and don outfits from another era.
Stourport Choral and Operatic Society is staging the Olde Tyme Music Hall at Kidderminster Town Hall, complete with songs and costumes from the turn of last century. Mary Johnson, Arnold Johnson and Ann Lloyd are ready for the "good old days" musical hall evening.
It wants folk to follow the choir's lead by dressing up in top hats, tails, bonnets and shawls.
Entertainment will include favourite old songs like Daisy, Daisy, jokes and a sketch. "We're hoping people will join in and have a singalong," said Mary Johnson, the society's treasurer and a choir member. "The words will be printed on programmes if people don't know them."
Three years ago the society put on Edwardian Extravaganza, a similar attraction, which drew a full house. But punters were reluctant to dress up, something that the society hopes to change by offering prizes for the best outfits.
The fun starts at 7.30pm on Saturday and tickets are available from Arnold Johnson on 01299 823811.
