BROTHER and sister Heather and Jack Crump share an unusual qualification for two people brought up in Wyre Forest - they are both qualified lifeguards.
Heather, 24, became a lifeguard four years ago after completing a week's course in Newquay and this summer she took her brother down to train there as well. Heather and Jack Crump are pictured ready to take to the waves.
Jack, 16, said: "The course concentrated on running along the beach, paddling, swimming and resuscitation.
"We had a 200 metre swimming race, which I won in five minutes and 10 seconds."
Heather is also a badminton champion for Kent county where she works as a PE teacher in Sittingbourne.
Jack, a member of Wyre Forest Swimming Club based at Stourport Sports Centre, is studying A-levels at Worcester School but hopes to work as a lifeguard in Newquay next summer.
Their mother, Di, of Weather Lane, Astley, said: "The course was run by the Royal Surf Lifesaving Association and they both thoroughly enjoyed it."
