AUTUMN FEST: A very good day was enjoyed by young and old alike and all in a good cause. Not all of the expenses have been settled, but we can reckon on raising about £2,000 towards the children's play area. Fun though it all was on the day, many people had worked very hard behind the scenes selling raffle tickets, collecting and labelling bottles, baking cakes and doing many other unseen tasks. These people we thank very much for their time and effort.

n BOWLING CLUB: Congratulations are in order to Bredon Bowling Club who have won the Wychavon Trophy. Although the outdoor season is over, the club continues to provide enjoyable events and activities for members.

n SAVE THE CHILDREN: There has recently been the launch of an SCF cookery book, 'Food for Thought' which has been produced by SCF members in the Gloucestershire and Bristol area. It includes many international recipes, but mostly our own well tried and well loved favourite recipes. The book costs £5 and is available at the Nottingham Arms and Alison's Book Shop, both in High Street, Tewkesbury or from any SCF committee member. Together with the Gloucestershire Arthritis Trust, Tewkesbury Hospital League of Friends and Salter's Hill Charity, Save The Children will have their shop for the day at Home Farm, Tredington, today (Thursday) 10am to 4pm.
