THE Mayoress of Kidderminster Della Stevens and Bewdley town councillor Paul Gittins enjoyed a warm reception when they took part in a fundraising walk at a Stourport pub.
They were among 17 people taking part in an eight-metre firewalk at Brinton Arms in aid of the children's helpline charity, ChildLine. Councillor Paul Gittins and the Mayoress of Kidderminster Della Stevens are pictured getting ready for the charity fire walk.
Mrs Stevens, who raised around £320, said: "It was really an experience. I did not end up with any burns and the talk beforehand was really useful."
Councillor Gittins said: "I was a bit nervous but I knew it could be done." And Mr Gittins, who raised about £120, joked: "The hardest part is getting money out of people."
He added walkers had been "psyched up" during a two-and-a-half hour pep talk. He said: "Some of the girls taking part were quite high."
