A LAST ditch attempt is being made to save Pershore Twinning Association, which could be dissolved in the next few weeks.
At its annual meeting on October 18, no one came forward to be the group's secretary or treasurer and the chairman said he would only continue until someone else could be found.
A committee meeting will now take place on November 10, which could spell a temporary end to the twinning association if members agree to wind it up.
If the association is wound up, the town council will take over the running until a new association is formed.
Marion Freeman, twinning member and a town councillor, said that the meeting is a last ditch attempt to stop the association folding.
"We recently had some people over from Plouay and those who looked after them said they might be interested in joining, but none were interested in the higher positions.
"Obviously people hope it keeps going, but we would really like to hear from new members, as this could be the last chance to rescue it," she added. People who are interested in the Pershore Twinning Association should contact Marion Freeman on 01386 552482.
