THE Annual General Meeting of the Ladies' Section of the Worcestershire Golf Club was held on October 23, the last one in the old familiar club house of 74 years, as the move to the newly built clubhouse is imminent.
The new lady captain Jill Exell and vice captain Kate Foster were voted into office with new treasurer Zena Lloyd, competition secretary Jill Mico and match secretary Janet Long. Brenda Jones and Barbara Williamson also came on to the committee.
The formal business of the AGM was followed by the presentation of trophies and prizes. Over the year's competitions 28 players won cups and 40 have dropped their handicaps indicating a good rise in the standard of play.
Two players have moved to single figure handicaps, the club champion Cath Francis and winner of the Carrington Cup Ursula Pearson.
There have been four holes in one during the year to the delight of everyone as they have occurred rarely over the last few years. So the 19th hole has been enjoyed as well as the 18 on the course.
