A MALVERN vet is appealing to the owner of a lost tortoise, taken in after going walkabout in Malvern Link, to come forward.
The elderly tortoise was taken into Chamings and Carman's surgery after being found last Thursday (October 25) in a car park outside Seymour Court, Marlborough Gardens, off Lower Howsell Road.
Vet Richard Chamings said: "We think his owners might think he's hibernating but because of the warm weather he's gone walkabout. He probably wouldn't have been that far from home."
The tortoise has been joined by pigeon called Pidgie, who is looking for a new home after being found as a fledgling in the middle of Malvern's Church Street and hand-reared by veterinary assistant Gemma Wylde.
"He probably could fend for himself," said Mr Chamings. "But he's so tame the danger is he could be attacked by a cat. He needs a home somewhere without a cat or a lot of traffic."
Anyone who recognises the tortoise, or who has space for a pigeon, should call 01684 560940.
