MALVERN Hills College has submitted a planning application for a security fence, following a series of vandal attacks.
If approved, the 2.1-metre-high fence would enclose the college's campus, including the car park, on Albert Road North.
The college has been the victim of a series of attacks over the summer and autumn, which has left it with a bill totalling thousands of pounds.
After one incident in September, in which 55 windows and two glass doors were destroyed, college authorities decided enough was enough, and hired security guards to patrol the grounds at weekends, when the attacks were taking place.
Previous attacks included an arson incident in which wood was piled against the side of the building and set ablaze.
College principal Ray Phillips said: "Since we have been employing a security guard, we have had no more incidents of vandalism, but it is an on-going cost, which is why we have put in an application for a fence.
He said the fence, if approved, would cost about £25,000.
"This money will have to come out of the college budget and could otherwise have been used to improve facilities for the students," said Mr Phillips.
