LEDBURY and Malvern could be about to get its own branch of the Ramblers Association with plans for a meeting to test demand.
Herefordshire Ramblers Association is planning to set up branches to serve Ledbury and Malvern and Ross, complementing its existing Hereford group, which has more than 400 members.
A meeting is being held at the Burgage Hall in Ledbury on November 15 at 7.45pm for people interested in joining the group, for which a steering group has been set up.
Steering group chairman and Hereford chairman Nick Rayner said walking is becoming increasingly popular in the county.
"Apart from the two Ramblers' Association groups, there are about 20 other walking groups in Herefordshire itself of one form or another, some huge. It's very, very popular," he said.
