COMPOSER John Nichols was hitting all the right notes at County Hall when he tuned up a whole orchestra - in one instrument.
Pupils from Nunnery Wood High School joined Mr Nichols yesterday for the final preparations for this weekend's Skills on Show extravaganza when scores of schoolchildren will be given the chance to play the Gamelan.
The Asian instrument, which virtually makes up an orchestra and fills an entire room, is just one of the attractions on offer today and tomorrow.
A Worcestershire County Council spokesman said organisers had been forced to turn exhibitors away this year because interest had been so high.
They are expecting more than 13,000 visitors to flood through the doors.
"We've got stalls, performances by professional artists, workshops for kids and adults - and the opportunity to buy unique Christmas presents," he said.
"There's so many things on offer, it's hard to know where to begin."
Skills on Show is open from 10am until 5pm on both days.
