A NEW publication about the history of Worcester Cathedral has been dedicated to the memory of Philip Barker who died in January this year.
Mr Barker was archaeologist at the Cathedral from 1979 to 1987 and was instrumental in collating research and data of the site through his years of study.
The first edition of the book was published in 1994 and sold out within four years. Now, with continuing demand and recent archaeological research, the revised book has been re-issued.
It will aim to feature the architectural development of the Cathedral with illustrated diagrams and photographs.
The Dean of Worcester, the Very Rev Peter Marshall, felt the new edition of A Short History of Worcester Cathedral was a valuable addition to their publications and a fitting tribute to Mr Barker.
"His enthusiasm and love of the Cathedral was without bounds. We're very grateful to Chris Romain, the Cathedral Architect, for making this publication possible," he said.
The book is on sale from the Cathedral Gift Shop for £9.95
