ROADWORKS along Worcester's North Quay caused traffic throughout the city to grind to a halt.
And those witnessing yesterday's tailbacks said tempers flared as irate drivers sounded their horns and hurled abuse in frustration.
Traffic came to a standstill over the bridge crossing the River Severn as the backlog stretched as far back as Holt Heath to Powick island and along Temeside Way.
